Occasionally it will encounter unexpected data and become hopelessly frozen. If one imports a Title into Recode, switches discs in the drive, then presses "burn", Recode blindly begins encoding using data from the new DVD. Recode encodes wrong video, and may crash upon pressing "burn"
When one imports a DVD into two concurrent Recode sessions, attempting to encode the second session causes Recode to report "Please insert original disc in drive X:" and refuse to encode. Recode reports "Please insert original disc in drive X:" I imagine if I tried to encode this it would end up corrupt. The behavior of Recode after adjusting in/out points suggests that it is only maintaining one DVD table.

When importing Titles from more than one DVD at a time, the video preview windows tend to show videos from the wrong DVD. Preview windows display wrong video clips Now that I've been using Recode a bit more, I've been noticing some possible issues I'd like to bring to your attention. Is there any hope that this will be changed in the future, or should I go about finding alternate solutions?Įdited for picking up steam in my attempts to convert my entire DVD library to Nero Digital. My options are:ġ) Use WMP9 and have no control over playback whatsoever, but hear the audio.Ģ) Use ZoomPlayer and resign myself to downmixing all audio to 2ch, and also re-encoding all the 6ch movies I've done so far.ģ) Use ShowTime and sacrifice all the happiness that comes from using my favorite media player.Ĭould you please explain to me the business reason for preventing people from using their player of choice when viewing Nero Digital? Because I don't understand. So I'm stuck between a rock and two hard places. But I can't use the new version outside of ShowTime and WMP9! ARGH! But it will only connect from within WMP9. So whatever the problem was, it has been solved. Now the new version of NeAudio (v46) will connect just fine to AC3Filter on 6ch tracks. They all appear in the graph, but won't connect. 2ch works beautifully, but 6ch just won't connect the filters.
NeAudio (either version 36) won't hook up to AC3 Filter on a 6ch AAC audio track. Which has worked fine, except now I've realized. Now of course, to make this work in the first place, I have to use an old version of NeAudio. NDParser->NeAudio->AC3Filter->ZPAudio->DirectSound I watch my mp4s with ZoomPlayer, and the audio chain goes: In a continuation from the previous thread, this regards NeAudio.ax and its wacky antisocial tendancies.

Then revert to my current install and tweak the registry manually, so I can keep Nero but get my old codecs back. That was me getting smacked upside the head with my latest audio issue. I think I'll need to go back to a Ghost image BEFORE I installed Nero and read out the registry from there. I don't know enough about codecs and reg keys to start pissing about with the registry, however. This is what it spat out for the Nero Audio codec:ĭSHğriendly Name Nero Digital Audio DecoderĭSHĝriver or WrapperĜ:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeAudio.axĭSHĝirectShow CLSID
It gives a readout of which reg keys are associated with which codecs. GSpot seems to be a more useful tool than Sherlock Codec Detective, IMO. Even though I explicitly told Nero NOT to associate itself with any filetypes, video playback has been quirky ever since.Ĭan I restore things to a happier state by simply reinstalling ffdshow? Presumably all the codecs are still installed on my system, but Nero has stolen some of the Reg keys? However, package 2 seems to come with a whole bunch of Nero codecs. al, so I could master some DVD slideshows, but I didn't install Nero ShowTime. I installed package 2 - Nero Vision Express et. So, I may have a similar problem - I installed Nero 6.6.0.6 because I pretty much had to in order to use my shiny new DVD burner.
